The settlement of Korean culture in Canada is continuously evolving with the constant influx of new first-generation immigrants. To support this cultural integration, Coreators, a non-profit Korean-Canadian organization, works to assist the first generation in settling into their new lives. Their mission is to make it possible for first-generation Koreans to thrive and actively participate in cultural activities.
I had the opportunity to join the Coreators team and contribute to the creation of their promotional brochure, which will be distributed at various Korean-Canadian events in Toronto.
PROCESS

1. Receives Data

After initial discussion of brief, I receive all the datas from the clients.

2. Visually Organize data

After receiving all the data, I process and summarize data for readers to receive information easily.

3. Apply Graphic Elements

Create key graphic elements of the brand and apply them into the organize data

4. Update Data and Graphics

After presenting the first draft, I received new data (there was some confidential information I had to get rid of). While doing so, I also have upgraded the graphic elements to the next level.

5. Finalize

After presenting second draft, I gather more feedback and apply them. Update a few more graphic elements and re-organize information giving more hierarchies. For our audience, create two different versions of languages.

What I have learned from this project
I have learned that design is not just creating visuals but also understanding the data and presenting in such a fashionable way. Through direct communication with the clients, I allowed myself to take charge in directing what information would go in the promotional brochure.
